1. PADI Dive master Course


You’re starting point for a career in scuba diving

Thinking of making a career out of scuba diving? Take diving to a new level with the PADI Dive master Course and start your career doing what you love. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Dive master training develops your leadership abilities & skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve their diving. You put this knowledge into action through a structured internship or series of practical training exercises. Best of all you get to dive a lot!

The knowledge development portion of this course will be conducted at Scuba Cochin Kovalam Dive Center on Kovalam Beach Road, Trivandrum.

The PADI Dive master Course teaches you to lead dive activities. Through knowledge expansion sessions, water skill exercises, workshops and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct various scuba diving activities. The course consists of following:

» The role and characteristics of the PADI Dive master » Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers » Diver safety and risk management » Dive master conducted programs and specialized skills » Business of diving and your career » Awareness of the dive environment » Dive setup and management » Mapping an open water site » Conducting dive briefings » Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive » Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course » Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs » PADI materials & PADI fees are not included



2. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course


The 2nd part of the PADI diving instructor course

Are you looking for something extraordinary? To do something others can only dream of? To help people transform their lives? To open doors you didn’t even know existed? All of this, and more, awaits you as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).

The OWSI program is the second of two parts to PADI’s Instructor Development Courses. It follows on from the Assistant Instructor program and once completed, you’ll be ready to take your Instructor Exam.

The OWSI program is typically conducted in four days. It introduces you to the entire PADI System of diver education and concentrates on further developing your abilities as a professional dive educator. The challenging part of this course is your personal commitment to the training. The OWSI-course requires you to complete all the self-study Knowledge Reviews before the course begins and to prepare daily assignments for teaching presentations. Organization is essential and dedication is key.

During the OWSI-course you’ll learn how to apply the PADI System of Education by presenting at least:

» Two confined water teaching presentations » Two knowledge development presentations » One open water teaching presentations integrating two skills.

3. PADI Assistant Instructor Course


The first part of the PADI scuba diver instructor course If you have a love for people and the ocean with a yearning for an extraordinary life, become a PADI Instructor. Make the ocean your office while sharing your love for scuba diving. PADI Assistant Instructors and Open Water Scuba Instructors are the most sought after dive professionals worldwide, as they have achieved certification for the program that sets the standard for professional divers. Hard work and dedication are required to complete this course but the reward of an always adventurous job that follows your passion awaits you.

PADI’s Instructor Development Course (IDC) consists of two parts: The Assistant Instructor (AI) Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Program. Most future dive pros complete the entire IDC and go on to attend and Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn a PADI Instructor Certificate. The IDC commonly takes seven days.

After completing the AI Course the PADI Assistant Instructor is ready to progress to the OWSI course following which you may attend the two day IE to earn your PADI Instructor qualification.

If you are already an instructor with another dive organization, this may qualify you to skip the AI and enroll directly in the OWSI program.

The IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and will become really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. Key topics include:

» PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in-water workshops » Learning, Instruction and the PADI System » Risk Management and Diver Safety » The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor » Marketing Diving and Sales Counseling
